...the waiter and the certified brewer. He wanted to do a lot of things. What he does must be in order. He has visions and is a bundle of energy.
Claus Søgaard is a man in his best age. He has always been that way and he has always been in full swing. He was born in Løgstør, but grew up in Aalborg. In 1981 he was trained as a butcher and five years later as a cook.
Even then his career moved hand over fist with large and small projects. All of this took Claus round about in north and west Jutland and as a rule, with a view to the Limfjord. He has made his mark on Roslev Inn in Salling and Hotel Pakhuset in Nykøbing Mors just to mention a few of the stations along the way. He has always been like an octopus that could do the most of what is necessary for running a good hotel.
Even though the butcher/cook/brewer is tied to his home country, Claus has also been involved in projects in South Africa, Norway and the USA and today the export of beer is just one of the business areas for Søgaard’s Brewery.
From 2004, it was all about the brewery in Aalborg and Claus began to call himself a brewer. He is, for that matter, because it’s his name and his ideas that are the basis of the company. But as usual he wants to have his hand in everything and during recent years he has used a lot of time and energy on becoming acquainted with the noble profession of beer brewing.
When you talk about Claus, then you also talk about Lisa. Lisa Søgaard is a cook, co-manager and is involved all the way. Lisa is far more than an “employee wife” and Claus makes no secret of that. And with the name “Søgaard’s” at the front of the Brewery, Claus and Lisa is what is meant.
